ABOUT

ABOUT

Sean Simpson has been trying civil jury trials for over 30 years.  He started his career as a government employee prosecuting cases for the State’s Attorney in Illinois and serving three years as a law clerk to Judges Thomas Welsh and Judith Haller.   Motivated to help individuals harmed by someone else’s carelessness or intentional wrongdoing, Mr. Simpson has tried a wide variety of cases to verdict, including:  bodily injury, medical malpractice, product liability, defamation, sexual harassment, business fraud, elder abuse (EADACPA), insurance bad faith, child molestation, equine poisoning,  real estate fraud, excessive force, and Retail Loss Prevention Fraud/Coerced Confessions.

Whatever case you have, Mr. Simpson has likely tried a similar case.  This diverse background is what allows him to jump in quickly and start helping right away!  In all candor, this diverse background was not by choice, but was borne out of necessity.  When Mr. Simpson went into private practice he had to take just about every case that walked through the doors (i.e. ‘door’ law!), so he could support his wife and three young children at home.

Since 2001 Mr. Simpson has obtained numerous noteworthy verdicts and judgments, including 19 verdicts in excess of $1,000,000.00 – three of which were in excess of $10,000,000.00. Most of these large verdicts were obtained due to egregious conduct considered by the jury to be fraudulent, malicious or oppressive.  To see case names, numbers, dates and other details on these cases, please visit SimpsonLawGroup.com.

Over the past two decades Sean has obtained 11 verdicts where the jury found fraud, malice or oppression – leading to a settlement or award for punitive damages. The accomplishments of Mr. Simpson and his team have caught the attention of the news on several occasions, and earned them the rare distinction of having one of their cases featured in the New York Times (March 9, 2014 “When Employees Confess, Sometimes Falsely”).

Mr. Simpson is licensed to practice in California, Illinois, Missouri and Kentucky. He is a member of numerous local, state and national bar associations, has received an Outstanding Trial Lawyer award from Consumer Attorneys of San Diego on five separate occasions, and was selected CASD’s Trial Lawyer of The Year for 2006. His passion for serving his clients is unique and you will notice it immediately.  Let him share this passion with you and your client the next time you find yourself in need of an extra set of hands for trial.
